A young bighorn ewe who normally blends into canyon walls blossoms into a shooting star. On her head desert paintbrush sizzles at the tips of red yucca leaves, while desert fern, spreading daisies and a globemallow orbit her face and neck.

Fine filigrees of dried grama grass scroll like music, and a shimmering hummingbird buzzes nearby. The story on the back recounts her journey down the mountain to the Wild Hat Competition.
